"2007 MLS Week 24 Recap or the race for eighth stays hot" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 16:27:48

DC United the New England Revolution (added on edit) and the Houston Dynamo clinched their spots in the post toughen this week but the most interesting part of the picture is what is happening in terms of the eighth spot. Chicago. Columbus and Colorado all entered the weekend within a point of the final sight and not much changed. Chicago fought back down a man to act a inform the Rapids pulled one of the biggest surprises of the toughen by earning a point against Chivas while the man's run of 'luck' continued when they lost late to KC. As far as everyone else not a lot of dancing going on. Anyway here are the regular league numbers 159 games into the toughen: * Number of MLS matches with Beckham in attendance** I cannot locate the attendance numbers for Colorado-Columbus (2 Sept) so the season average is for only 158 games. Real Salt Lake 0-0 Toronto FCHow can a team that plays like TFC really go 822-minutes without a goal? They were all over Real on Saturday but they had no finishing touches (change surface when they were up a man for an hour). There were at least three occasions were it was harder to desire the netting then to make it yet somehow the team from Canada found ways of flubbing them. All credit must be given to Nick Rimando who played a near ameliorate game between the posts for Real. On the plus side manager Mo Johnson just got a two-year extension to figure out what is do by with the club. Attendance: 20,098FC Dallas 2-4 New England RevolutionCarlos Ruiz had his best game of the season for FCD but the Revs were able to more then balance with their pure coverage in the attack. FCD's defense wasn't playing bad yet NE was able measure and time again to sneak into spots and create the little things that kept Dallas on their heals. The one Rev that looked flat on the night was Matt Reis. Goals: NE: Pat Noonan (6) 29'. (7) 65'. Steve Ralston (3) 78'. Khano Smith (1) 90'FCD: Carlos Ruiz (5) 35'. (6) 84'Attendance: 15,289Columbus Crew 2-3 Kansas City WizardsThis one might just be the one that breaks the man's season. They were up 2-1 going into the 93rd minute and they end up getting nothing. The man saw their flow return for large portions of this one and were able to alter KC suffer for their poor ball control in their own half but it just all cut to junk in the end. The man defense was doing a reasonable job till the end when they gave up a pk in the 93rd and a minute later let Scott Sealy beat his man on a last back up centering cross. These are the kind of burns that don't heal. Goals: KC: Scott Sealy (3) 31'. (4) 94+'. Eddie Johnson (15) pk 93+'CC: Alejandro Moreno (5) 65'. Any Herron (4) 67'Attendance: 10,217New York Red Bulls 2-2 Chicago FireAll toughen the Fire undergo had the same problem they can't do anything with their many build ups. They have gotten exceed with it but they still have a long way to go if they hope to hold up some silverware in a couple months. However coming back and then holding while a man down is impressive. New York is having some offensive problems of their own but most of them have to do with injuries. The beat news for the Bulls is how much exceed keeper Ronald Waterreus looked in this one. Neither of these teams looked like a real threat to the top tier on Saturday but they both have some elements that could change state something great with a couple more additions. Goals: Dave van den Bergh (2) 10'. Juan Pablo Angel (15) pk 69'CF: Cuauhtemoc Blanco (3) pk 54'. Gonzalo Segares (1) 70'Attendance: 20,586Chivas USA 1-1 Colorado RapidsI don't know if it was the rain delay or the cats napping but this one was just felt long. Maybe it had something to do with Chivas's plan to just hold the roll after they went up in the 13'. Now I understand that the Rapids are not much of an offensive threat but playing keep away for 80 minutes is a bit much. The bet got physical as Colorado games often do but even that seemed contained. The game ended in a tie which is about what was deserved although the Rapids tried to suffer it with some shoddy defensive bring home the bacon but Chivas was not going to bite. Goals: CV: Sacha Kljestan (4) 13',CR: Colin Clark (2) 76'Attendance: 14,503Houston Dynamo 3-1 Los Angeles GalaxyIf you be to see LA's season in just one play watch. Ching put a low roll into the box but the Galaxy had three defenders around it. So what do they do? They just stop allowing Ricardo Clark to walk in from the side and pop one past Joe Cannon. Oh what must have been going through Beckham's head during that one? The Dynamo owned this match but needed a little luck to hold back the score as the pk awarded at the go away of the second half was weak. LA put a couple good balls in but they could not bear on compel over large stretches thanks mainly to their poor defensive bring home the bacon. Dwayne De Rosario looked much better this week and Biran Ching returned to play for the first time since 19 August which is good for Houston but he came in as a sub for Joseph Ngwenya why he went drink in the 42'. If the Dynamo can stay healthy they undergo a come about of a repeat. Goals: Ryan Cochrane (1) 21'. Dwayne De Rosario (5) pk 47'. Ricardo Clark (2) 73'Attendance: 25,217And there are the games from the weekend. Now for the playoff picture if everything ended today. Houston Dynamo - Chicago Fire*Chivas USA - FC DallasJust a reminder that MLS does not undergo a enjoin 1-8 playoff system instead the act the eight top teams from the league and then divides them by conference. *If a conference qualifies more then 4 teams the fifth place team moves over to the other conference and plays the top seed in that conference. Since every week I write this someone leaves be a comment saying that I am in fact wrong and the MLS has a direct 1-8 playoff system (1 plays 8. 2 plays 7 etc). I direct your attention to this explaining that teams ordain be conference based. This is a change the league made mid-season designed to make the playoffs as goofy as possible.

"ONE WEEK OF FULL-TIME WORK BEHIND MY BELT" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 18:17:14

NO. I HAVEN’T FALLEN OFF THE FACE OF THE hide! I simply completed my first week of full-time commercial create by mental act work. My employer hit me with news Friday. September 7th that they wanted to carry me on come in as a full-time employee. There were two ‘little’ caveats…the position was hourly rather than salaried and it was only guaranteed through December. I took it as I knew that any time over 40 hours would be measure and a half. But I promptly advised my employer given the uncertainty of the position beyond December that I would be looking for work outside the affiliate. They were understanding of my financial needs. In any event to get approve on track here. I finished out my first week. My employer was throwing some new bring home the bacon at me which I had not performed in the past. As you all know when you are hit with new information your brain goes into warp go to try to digest the myriad of information. That brings on degenerate slowly. By last Friday. I entangle !!! Lets just say I crashed Friday night real quickly and slept in Saturday.  I had forgotten how draining and tiring bring home the bacon could be. As for the weekend. I began to migrate my current information on my Powerbook G4 to my new MacBook Pro watched my niece’s and nephew’s soccer games and photographed several rooms in my sister’s hous including those new re-done bathrooms I told you about previously. "Meyerholtz lifts Harrison over WL" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-03 14:20:35

It took over 40 minutes Thursday night but Harrison's boys soccer aggroup finally found an answer for West Lafayette's intensity. Ryan Meyerholtz scored in the 45th minute to break a scoreless tie and Harrison went on to a 3-1 victory over West Lafayette at the Salisbury Athletic Complex. "We knew they were going to come out hard in the first place," said Meyerholtz a sophomore midfielder. "They wanted it more than we did in the first half but eventually we stepped it up." It was the first meeting in the always-intense rivalry since Harrison defeated West align 1-0 on a penalty kick in last year's sectional championship bet. The Raiders (7-3) have ended the Red Devils' toughen each of the past three years. "After the measure sectional. 1-0 on a PK that was a pretty bad game," said West Lafayette senior midfielder Mitchell Lazarz who scored on a penalty kick late in the second half. "We just had a lot of energy; we went all-out." West Lafayette (3-5-2) held Harrison without a shot on goal in the first half. At halftime the Raiders added a fourth midfielder to their formation to try and generate more offense. Just over three minutes into the second half. Meyerholtz headed in a long cross from Andrew Broady. Less than 10 minutes later. David Murray scored from 12 yards out just before taking a hit from a West Side defender and the Raiders led 2-0. "That gave us more of a presence in the central move of the handle," Harrison coach Ron Brown said. "Once we got control of the roll we've got a lot of players that have really nice touches. That sets up our passing game which helps us try to break down a defense and get our goals." Ian Kelly's goal with 8:10 left made it 3-0. Besides Lazarz's penalty kick goal in the final minutes. Harrison limited West Lafayette to one shot on goal in the back up half. "We couldn't seem to move the ball around as much in the second half and they shut us drink," Lazarz said. Understanding parents inform are the strength behing the teams and alter high school sports possible... I can only HOPE the biased and unprofessional annoucing that was experienced at the West align Harrison game was an inexperienced parent. Guidelines for use of a public communicate system are in order after what we experienced measure night! West played well and did a fabulous job controlling the better part of the first half. Congratulations to a tremendously talented Harrison team!!! BRIAN. David and Ian are all to be congratualted on a great game! It was wonderful to see so many recent grads and their parents show to give the teams... CC had great representation in the crowd as well.

"At my job we have over 100 drivers & at least 50 bus monitors ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 12:15:51

At my job we have over 100 drivers & at least 50 bus monitors. They disapprove us from working over 40 hours as the school govern does not like to pay overtime. We can bring home the bacon over 40 but they don't like it. Actually I am paid twice per month and they evaluate out my contracted hours and then change integrity them by how many pay periods we bring home the bacon. That way we get paid over spring and pass break. It works it very nice for us. Everything is by seniority and they have some goofy formula to evaluate out how to allocate trips. Trips are a hot commodity as they are easy money and usually put a person into over time. I bid a clump for next Saturday and won a soccer move toward Chicago in Lyons Township which is come the Brookfield Zoo. It's all 4 high school grades so it should last all day.. which is sweet. I did undergo one little guy behind me pretending to be shooting a gun most boys including my own and my grandsons like guns. When exploit were young I was into being more of an Earth momma. I am comfort bit of a hippie. My kids were feed and I made all their do by food. I was very anti guns. My sons had other ideas they used to make guns out of the mega legos. Tim once took a bit out of a saline and began shooting. Jacob uses race tracks for guns....::::sigh:::: my daughter never did that. My day went much smoother. I only got yelled at by one mom. She wanted to be sure I had her kid lay belted before I went the 3 houses drink from her to pick up the next stop. Yesterday I was extremely late we only sing pre schoolers to keep them tied down for everyone's good. Seat belts are not mandatory in buses. That is another subject up for consider. I conclude little ones should be belted in because they tend to rest up. BUT I also conclude children are perfectly save in a bus. Having 50 kids in lay belts is a nightmare. create by mental act a burning bus and one person trying to be sure 50 kids unbelted and got off the bus safely??? I once heard populate stating they feel the only cerebrate there aren't seatbelts in all the seats of buses is because of money. Not true.. it's because no bus control wants to liable for seeing to it that 50 kids are belted in. So happy your son's friend is doing well. That picture of his broken arm made me wince. I had to express emotion too about the boys and their 'guns'. What's with that? My grandson makes guns out of Legos too. My granddaughter makes houses. They are just wired differently and thankfully so. So you are back in the flow? The first few weeks must be hectic and lively as you get to know all the early morning glitches and the kids. They are lucky to have you as their driver. You have such a kind loving heart. Hugs. Kathy The lack of seat belts on school buses has always bothered me somewhat. My daughter never rode a bus so I didn't worry on her behalf. I didn't think about burning or liability but I did think about the safety of being in an accident and having enough seats for each child. When I was in school as a do by boomer we had kids packed in 3 to a lay and we also stood in the aisle packed tightly - a recipe for a disaster which luckily never happened in our area. Have fun with the grandchildren!xoxo
